DEEP CONNECTIONS WITH PATIENTS

Dr. Megan J. Engelen,

DO, FACP

My passion as an internal medicine physician is to support lifelong health and wellness through personalized care. The most rewarding aspect of medicine for me is the deep connections I have with my patients, being there to listen, to support, to guide, and to help as they work to heal on this incredible journey of life. I truly enjoy learning what is most important to you and taking into account your values and goals to support care that can be in alignment.

I will partner with you every step of this journey. Being in the MDVIP model gives me the tools to better help you manage a chronic illness, work to improve your nutrition, get more active, or run a 5K or triathlon. My goal is to help you as you pursue improving your health span and preventing disease. I like to use a personalized approach, incorporating lifestyle interventions before using medications when possible.

I am board certified in internal medicine and have been practicing medicine for over 15 years. I have experience in my field, and I continue to learn from my patients each day. I am passionate about offering my patients the annual MDVIP Wellness Program, comprised of advanced screenings and tests that can help identify certain risk markers and issues that can be treated earlier, prevented or even reversed. I believe in prevention efforts that incorporate a holistic approach. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments with minimal waiting, which may be found in a concierge medicine practice.

My interests include approaching a wide range of conditions including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, mental health and women’s health. I have a special interest in earlier interventions, where possible, for prediabetes, weight management and helping women in perimenopause and menopause.

When not engaged with my patients, you can find me cheering on my daughter and two sons at their lacrosse games, road biking up Emigration or Millcreek Canyon, taking my favorite hot yoga class, skiing at Alta, or jogging in my neighborhood. I find joy and peace in the mountains and love adventuring with my husband and kids, whether hiking in the Wasatch, camping in the Tetons, or paddleboarding.

I am excited to partner with you as you take the next step in prioritizing your health.
